What are the monthly meetings like?

TEDxOrlandoSalon is held at Taste, a casual restaurant in the College Park neighborhood.

A typical meeting draws between 15 and 50 smart, interesting, engaged people. Some will be regulars and some will be newcomers. Some choose to eat during the event, others choose not to.

Two TEDTalk videos are shown, each followed by a discussion break. The event program is determined by vote, and discussions are open-ended.

Should I eat ahead of time?

The food at Taste is wonderful and many people choose to eat during the event; other folks choose to eat ahead of time. We've tried to structure it to so that everyone can tailor the experience to their preferences.

What talks will be on the program?

Because we offer attendees a selection of talks to choose from during the evening, we don't publish a program in advance. Talks we've shown in the past include:
April 2013
Dan PallottaThe way we think about charity is dead wrong
Ron FinleyA guerilla gardener in South Central LA
March 2013
James B. GlattfelderWho controls the world?
Miguel NicolelisA monkey that controls a robot with its thoughts. No, really.
February 2013
Gever Tulley5 dangerous things you should let your kids do
Sherry TurkleConnected, but alone?
